Mangrove Cultivation conducted exotic tree removal for the Bay Isle Association on Longboat Key, Florida. We cut down, and cut up, all of the Australian pine and Brazilian pepper trees on the offshore islands. I am currently experiencing job insecurity here because, after poisoning all the stumps, further maintenance will not be required for another 10 years.
The only way to get the perfect mangrove trimming boat is to design and build it yourself. My boat has a flat bottom with a slight 'v' forward, an open bow for hauling branches, is self bailing, and has an environmentally friendly 4 stroke 100 hp engine.
Mangrove Cultivation helped the homeowners association to obtain a DEP permit to trim the mangroves growing in this channel for navigation. We have conducted this trimming for several years. This permit ensures the home owners easy access into the bay into the future.
